Sparrownews: Countrywide famous bottled water Bisleri is now going to be sold. Tata Consumer is set to acquire India’s largest packaged drinking water company, Bisleri, for an estimated Rs 6,000-7,000 crore. According to the Economic Times report, the chairman of Bisleri International, Ramesh J Chauhan is planning it.  It is being told that the talks for this deal were going on for the last 2 years.


 Ramesh J Chauhan told , “We are in discussion with Tata Group, other companies are also in the fray, but cannot share more details about it at the moment.  We would like to have some stake."  Bisleri is the largest packaged water company in India and the turnover for FY23 is estimated at 2,500 crores with a profit of 220 crores.


Tata Consumer also sells bottled water. The Tata group houses its consumer business under Tata Consumer Products Limited (TCPL), TPCL also sells packaged mineral water under the brand Himalayan with brands such as Tata Copper Plus Water and Tata Gluco+.


A report by market research and advisory TechSci Research states that the Indian bottled water market was worth over $2.43 billion (about Rs 19,315 crore) in FY2021. It is expected to grow at a CAGR of 13.25 per cent due to increasing disposable income, growing health and hygiene awareness and increase in product innovation, the report said.
