Report : Few weeks before india banned export of Wheat soon later now Rice. In May - June month wheat & Sugar export  regulations announced by  Government after limites touched the export capacity. Same way now India bans Export of Broken rice, imposes 20%  duty on non - basmati rice.

                 Let's understand what is Export banned. India solved food crisis occurred by ukrain wa. But tremendous increase in export could increase inflation and food crisis in India too. To solve this India bans Export of Broken rice by imposing duty. Means if  importers buy from  India, they have to pay extra 20% compared to global Market due to export tax. This decrease rice export, wich is aim of India.

    The area under paddy crop has decreased significantly in the current Kharif season. In such a situation, the government has taken this step to increase the domestic supply. India exports rice to more than 150 countries. This decision of the Government of India will affect its shipment in the global market.


They will get export permission

          The provisions under Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020 in respect of the transferred policy will be applicable to this notification. Also, during the period from 9 to 15 September, some consignments of piece rice will be allowed to be exported. According to the notification, during this period only those consignments will be allowed for export, whose loading on the ships has started before this notification.


Why did the government impose duty?

 Earlier, the government has imposed an export duty of 20 per cent on non-basmati rice except Usna rice. The area under paddy crop has decreased significantly in the current Kharif season. In such a situation, the government has taken this step to increase the domestic supply. There should be no shortage of rice for the citizens of the country. That's why the government is trying its best to maintain the supply. According to the notification of the Revenue Department, an export duty of 20 percent has been imposed on rice and brown rice in the form of paddy.


Rice export figures,

         Due to less rainfall in some states of the country, the area under paddy has decreased. India is the largest producer of rice after China. India accounts for 40 per cent of the global rice trade. India exported 21.2 million tonnes of rice in the 2021-22 fiscal year. It had 39.4 lakh tonnes of Basmati rice. According to official figures, exports of non-basmati rice stood at $6.11 billion during this period. India exported non-basmati rice to more than 150 countries of the world during 2021-22.


Shipment will be affected

      India exports rice to more than 150 countries. This decision of the Government of India will affect its shipment in the global market and due to this, the prices of rice will be affected. According to Reuters, India has been the cheapest supplier of rice. India has saved African countries such as Nigeria, Benin and Cameroon by sharply lowering the prices of wheat and corn. India has already banned the export of wheat.
