3)Chandraghanta

       Chandraghanta is worshiped on the third day. The half-moon-shaped tilak is seated on the head of the goddess, that is why she is also known as Chandraghanta. 6)Katyayini

        When the atrocities of Mahishasura had increased on the earth, then Lord Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh all three gave their share of their glory and created a goddess for the destruction of Mahishasura. This goddess was first worshiped by Maharishi Katyayan.  Known as Katyayani.


7) Kaalratri

        Kalratri is worshiped on the seventh day.  The seventh form of Maa Bhagwati is called Kaalratri. Kaal means the crisis, which has the power to end all kinds of troubles, she is Mata Kalratri. The form of Mother Kalratri is very terrible to see but it is always going to give auspicious results and  She is going to kill the demons. Worshiping this form of the mother destroys all the troubles.


8) Mahagauri

       Mahagauri is worshiped on the eighth day.  It is said that when the mother had done such severe penance to get Lord Shiva that she had turned black.  It was washed with water. After this, the body of the mother had become very radiant like an electric light. Its form was known as Mahagauri.


9) Siddhidatri

       Siddhidatri is worshiped on the ninth day.  The importance of the goddess is hidden in the name itself. She is called Siddhidatri because she is the one who bestows all the accomplishments to her devotees.  become.


How Durga Puja celebrated in Kolkata?

      On the sixth day of Navaratri, the first day of Durga Puja in Kolkata; the beautifully decorated idols are brought home or placed magnificently as decorated public pandals.
