Dubai.  India won the Asia Cup 2022 by defeating Pakistan by five wickets.  With this, he completed the revenge of the T20 World Cup defeat.  Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first and called Pakistan to bat.  Pakistan could play 19.5 overs and got out after scoring 147 runs.  Mohammad Rizwan scored the highest 43 runs.  Iftikhar Ahmed also played an innings of 28 runs.  For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took four, Hardik three, Arshdeep two and Avesh Khan took one wicket.  India achieved this target in 19.4 overs.  Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli scored 35 and Hardik scored 33 runs.

With this win, India has cleared the account of defeat against Pakistan in last year's T20 World Cup. India was then defeated by Pakistan by 10 wickets at the Dubai ground.

 Chasing the target, India did not start well. Opener KL Rahul lost his wicket in the first over without opening an account. He was bowled by debutant Naseem Shah. Captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli shared a crucial 49-run partnership for the second wicket. However, Rohit did not appear in the rhythm and was dismissed after scoring 12 runs in 18 balls. He hit a six. In the eighth over, Rohit was caught by Mohammad Nawaz in the hands of Iftikhar Ahmed.

             India's third wicket fell as Virat Kohli, who returned to the pavilion in the 10th over. He was also caught by Nawaz at the hands of Iftikhar. Kohli scored 35 runs in 34 balls. He hit 3 fours and 1 six. Ravindra Jadeja and Suryakumar Yadav shared a 36-run partnership for the fourth wicket. This partnership was broken by Naseem in the 15th over by bowling Suryakumar. He scored 18 runs in 18 balls. He hit a boundary.


Hardik Pandya hit the winning six

          At the same time, India got the fifth blow in the form of Jadeja on the first ball of the 20th over, which was bowled by Nawaz. He scored 35 runs in 29 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Jadeja shared a strong 52-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Hardik Pandya. After Jadeja's departure, Pandya crossed the line of victory for India. India needed 7 runs to win in the last over. Pandya got the victory by hitting a six. Pandya scored 33 not out in 17 balls. He hit 4 fours and 1 six. Dinesh Karthik remained unbeaten on 1 run.

 

Pakistan team piled up in 19.5 overs

            Earlier, batting first after losing the toss, Pakistan team were bundled out for 147 runs in 19.5 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took four wickets for India. Hardish Pandya took three and Arshdeep Singh took two wickets. Avesh Khan got a breakthrough.Pakistan made a disappointing start and lost the first wicket on a total of 15. Captain Babar Azam became the victim of Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the third over. He gave a catch to Arshdeep Singh. Babar scored 10 runs in 9 balls. He hit 2 fours. Pakistan got the second blow in the form of Fakhar Zaman, who was sent to the pavilion by Avesh Khan in the sixth over. He scored 10 runs in 6 balls with 2 fours before being caught by wicketkeeper Karthik. He added 27 runs for the second wicket with opener Mohammad Rizwan.


 Rizwan and Iftikhar added 45 runs

           From here Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed carried forward Pakistan's innings. Both shared a 45-run partnership for the third wicket. This partnership was broken when Iftikhar was dismissed in the 13th over. He caught Karthik off the ball of Hardik Pandya. Iftikhar scored 28 runs in 22 balls with the help of 2 fours and 1 six. After this, Hardik took two wickets in the 15th over. He got Rizwan caught in the hands of Avesh on the first ball. Rizwan scored 43 runs in 42 balls with the help of 4 fours and 1 six. Hardik got Khushdil Shah (2) caught by Ravindra Jadeja on the fourth ball of the over.


Bhuvneshwar took two victims in one over.

          Pakistan's sixth wicket fell as Asif Ali. He was caught by Bhuvneshwar in his net in the 17th over. He was caught by Suryakumar Yadav in the pursuit of hitting a six. Arshdeep made Mohammad Nawaz his victim in the 18th over. Nawaz gave a catch to Karthik in an attempt to play a cut shot. He scored 1 run in 3 balls. Bhuvneshwar took two victims in the 19th over. He lbw Shadab Khan (10) on the second ball and Naseem Shah (0) on the third ball. Arshdeep wrapped up Pakistan's innings by bowling Shahnawaz Dahani on the fifth ball of the 20th over. Dahani scored 16 runs in 6 balls with 2 sixes. Haris Rauf remained unbeaten on 13 off 7 balls.

            A total of 10 international T20 matches have been played between India and Pakistan, out of which India has won 8 and Pakistan has won 2. If we look at the encounters between the two in the Asia Cup, then India has the upper hand there too. A total of 15 matches have been played between the two in the Asia Cup so far. During this, India won 9 and Pakistan won in 5. In the year 1997, the match played between the two ended in a draw.
